SE7EN Vol. 4 - Se7olution

韓國人氣歌手SE7EN將會挑戰戲劇界，首次拍劇的他會在2007年初播出的《宮2》中擔演主角。之後，SE7EN會在明年正式進軍美國市場，首張唱片更邀來了美國著名音樂監製Mark Shimmel及Rich Harrison的拔刀相助。SE7EN將會是首位在美國發片的韓國人

SE7EN的第四張韓文大碟《Se7olution》，就是結合了「SE7EN」和「evolution」(進化)的意思。為了讓歌迷的耳朵和心靈都得到滿足，這次SE7EN棄用舞曲，改以慢歌「LALALA」作為主打歌。「LALALA」乃是SE7EN留在美國學習英語時，與1TYM的Teddy的一起錄音的作品。而另一首主打歌則是由Big MaMa的李英賢作曲填詞的「做得很好」。大碟收錄14首歌曲，SE7EN也創作了兩首曲子，及參與數曲的填詞工作。。 

4집 'Se7olution'은 타이틀 곡 '라라라'를 비롯해 수록 곡 중 상당수가 발라드로 채워졌으며, 다양한 음악적 시도로 과거와 미래를 잇는 이면적 모습을 선보이고 있다. 팔색조처럼 다양해진 보이스 컬러와 눈에 띄게 '진화'된 음악적 역량으로 무장한 세븐은 'Se7olution'을 통해 자신의 화려한 스타성에 가려졌던 보컬리스트로서의 역량을 모두 쏟아내면서 4집 활동 중에도 현란한 퍼포먼스를 자제하고 오직 노래만으로 대중에게 다가설 예정이다. 2006년 가을을 적실 세븐의 팝 발라드 곡 '라라라' 4집 'Se7olution'은 지금까지 화려한 비트와 퍼포먼스에 가려져 잘 드러나지 않았던 세븐의 뛰어난 가창력을 전면으로 내세운다. 
그는 모든 곡의 코러스를 직접 담당한 것은 물론, 노래마다 능수능란하게 자신의 목소리를 변화시키면서 다양한 장르의 곡들을 '세븐화'시키고 있다. 4집 타이틀 곡 '라라라'는 세븐의 선배이자 음악적 파트너인 원타임의 테디가  작사, 작곡한 곡으로 그의 성숙된 감성이 목소리의 변화와 함께 짙게 묻어나는 미디엄 템포의 팝 발라드이다. 다른 사랑에 힘들어하는 여인을 홀로 기다린다는 애절한 가사가 인상적이며, 특히 거칠고 성숙한 음색에서 시작해 세븐 특유의 미성으로 조금씩 변해가는 보컬링은 몽롱하면서도 감성적인 멜로디와 어우러져 듣는 이로 하여금 탄성을 자아내게 한다. 또한 빅마마의 멤버 이영현이 세븐을 위해 작사한 곡 '잘할게'에서는 한계를 능가하려는 듯 폭발적인 가창력이 큰 스케일의 오케스트라음색과 더해져 가슴 뭉클한 감동을 선사할 것이다. 이밖에 3집의 '밤새도록'을 잇는 디스코풍 댄스곡 'Oh ma girl', 세븐이 직접 작곡에 참여한 'Girl friend'과 'Promise'등 신선하고 다양한 음악들이 4집 'Se7olution’에 담겨 팬들의 손길을 기다리고 있다.

Se7en is back:
1. "Se7olution [Into]" - The intro is actually written by se7en, its a great fresh pop intro to get into the next track "girlfriend".

2. "Girlfriend" - Written by Se7en, it has a great bright color feel with very pop beats, Se7en has really shown a different side with his tone color in the song, making the whole song sound very nice.

3. "LaLaLa" - This is Se7en's title track, I reckon he made a nice come back with this song, it's a nice slow tempo song, its very catchy and especially the tone color in Se7en's voice, its very rough, but i'm feeling the anger in his voice. I like the whole arrangement with light and dark shades in the song, nice comeback se7en.

4. "I Will Do Well" - This is a ballad song, it shows the emotional and vocal side of se7en, he gives me a feeling of sadness i can feel what this trying to say in his texture, when i listen to it my heart feels the pain. Really emotional song and very nice to listen to. Very beautiful!

5. "Last of Dairy" - This is actualy a song in his Japanese album "First Se7en", its another ballad but in korean, the lryics are totally different, its more sad, i really liked this song, its so beauitful and there is soft and rough texture in his voice making the color of ths song very light and dark. Thumps up to se7en singing such a emotional song.
6. "Again" - " Again" is an R&B song, more a song that you can dance to

7. "can you feel me" - This song is more fast tempo then again, its very catchy and a good song to sing with firends, its another track you can dance to, very bright more color and there is a part featured with "BIG BANG - GDRAGON" 

8. "A Similar love" - this is a ballad song, its reminds me one of those songs from his first album "just listen" not to R&B but more Soul and Pop feel, its like a "Shinhwa" ballad song, i really love the chorus part, its really beautiful.

9. I'm Sorry[Interlude]" - Written by se7en, its a intro to his more upbeat songs, its a very hip hop feel.

10. "Oh[Oh Ma Girl]" - Its a song also written by se7en, first of all its a very high fast tempo song, its a very different style from his pervious songs, se7en is actually singing falsetto in the song, it really reminds me of Justin Timberlake, at first when i heard it i was like OMG, the 2nd time listening to it i was digging into the song, I actually enjoyed it, buts it feels very Justin Timberlake.

11. "Get up And Dance" - This song is also an dat tempo song, I reckon this song would be very entertaining on the stage when se7en actually performs this song on stage, because se7en can work the audience "Everybody, Get up and dance"

12. "Please give me permission" - Continuing with a fast temop song, se7en is not stopping and just want us to keep dancing, its a really fast catchy hip-hop songs, very catchy, very different, very stylish.

13. "Monologue" - R&B soul ballad song, this song is bringing us back the soul of se7en when he did "must listen" album, this is a nice song, its very fast in singing wise, another skill he has shown us

14. "Promise" - i really enjoy listening to this song, its my first time hearing se7en singing with acoustic, its very nice to hear se7en doing new stuff each time.



Overall i have to say this album is very stylish, its very different to his pervious works, i enjoy his firesh music, artist like him really brings a whole different style and clour in the industry.
